Polishing your ring every 4 to 6 months is recommended because you are removing gold from the ring by polishing to remove the scratches. This can weaken micro setting. If your ring is starting to look dull you can take it to your local jewelry store or to where ever you bought it from to have it cleaned in the ultrasonic cleaner and steamed.
